Wow, it’s already mid-year!

Two weeks ago I passed the Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals certification.

Honestly, it wasn't part of my plan, but with the rapid advancements in AI, it became essential. I couldn’t let AI be synonymous with just ChatGPT and risk being left behind :)

To make it even more exciting, this is my first Azure certification, achieved less than a month after passing the AWS Security Specialty certification.

It's a foundational exam so the questions aren't difficult.

I took it remotely through Pearson Vue and didn't have any issues.

There are 43 multiple-choice questions covering the domains and you will be given 45 min to complete the exam.

The exam fee is $99

What does this certification entail?

Demonstrate fundamental AI concepts related to software development and Microsoft Azure services to create AI solutions.

The key areas of assessment include:

  • Artificial Intelligence workloads & considerations (15-20 %) - Understanding various AI workloads and the key factors to consider when implementing them.

  • Principles of machine learning on Azure (20-25%) - Gaining knowledge about the core principles and techniques of machine learning on the Azure platform.

  • Computer vision workloads on Azure (15-20%) - Learning about implementing computer vision solutions using Azure's services.

  • Natural Language Processing (NLP) workloads on Azure (15-20%) - Exploring the capabilities of Azure in handling NLP tasks.

  • Generative AI workloads on Azure (15-20%) - Diving into the emerging field of generative AI and its applications on Azure.

For those interested in pursuing this certification, here are some great resources:

  • AI-900 - Learning About Generative AI

  • Tutorials Dojo - For practice questions to test your knowledge. However, I don’t believe they updated the questions or section to include the Generative AI section because I didn’t find any questions related to the Gen AI domain.

As a cybersecurity practitioner, I do believe that continuous learning is crucial. The role of AI in maintaining robust security defenses will only grow, making it essential for professionals to stay ahead of the curve by embracing AI technologies.

Keep learning, and leveling up, and see you at the top!
