Bio

Zinet Kemal, is an immigrant, a mother of four, a career changer from the legal field, a multi-award-winning cybersecurity practitioner, TEDx Speaker & award winning children’s book author.

Zinet is a Georgia Tech University graduate with a Masters of Science in cybersecurity. She earned a BS degree in Computer Science from Metro State University and a Bachelor of Law (LLB). Currently works for a Fortune 500 organization as a Cloud Security Engineer. She also serves on a non-profit organization board, Black Girls in Cyber as a Community Outreach director with a mission to transition women of color into entry-level Cybersecurity, Privacy & STEM Careers.

Zinet is a 3 times published award winning children’s book author. "Proud in Her Hijab”, on girls’ empowerment, ‘Oh, No ... Hacked Again!’ on teaching kids about online security & to spark interest in young readers, to consider cybersecurity as an exciting meaningful career option. Her latest release ‘See Yourself in Cybersecurity’ an international amazon #1 bestseller is on cybersecurity careers for the next generation.

Zinet is the 2023 Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal 40 under 40 honorees, Recipient of the 2023 Ivan Allen Legacy Awards, Women Who Code Applaud Her Awards security honoree, 2022 SC media women in IT Security Cyber Advocate, CyberScoop Most Inspiring Up & Comer, 2021 Team Women’s WaveMakers Award - Unchartered Territory honoree. She was recently featured on the news & did a segment on Good Morning America, 11Alive, CBS Minnesota - WCCO.
